Sophie came to live with me today. I woke up this morning with all sorts of plans and not one of them included getting a dog. I had a morning watercolor class to teach, and done with that, I headed home and to the studio. Sheila and I had to go to a dog groomer and see about hanging our dog-related art work there. And so shortly after I returned, off we headed. After driving by the place, not once, but twice, (dammit, where is that turn?) I pulled into the parking lot of Cashmere Dog Grooming and Sheila and I met up with the owners. During the course of the visit, we came upon Sophie who was being groomed. An adorable white Maltese, she was very charming. And then……. Terry informed us that her owner was looking to give her away…… What? Really? GIVE her away? Oh….. dear….. Well one thing led to another and then we found out her name was….Sophie. That was it. Kismet. Fate. Meant to be. Sophie was the name of Sheila’s muse, her black lab who passed over the Rainbow Bridge not long ago. That we were there at that moment, to meet Sophie, and to find out someone was giving her away to a good home….. well it was just the stars coming together….. After talking to her current owner on the phone, and settling things, Sheila and I headed off to the store to collect among other things, dog food, treats, and a small dog harness…..Auntie Sheila bought Sophie a few doggie toys…. The real clincher was when we found a dog carrier/crate at the thrift shop. How many times does that happen that they have one of those?? Surely this was meant to be.
So , today Sophie came to live with me. Sophie has a new home.
Yay…..I CAN’t wait to meet sophie…..
